Funklehorn Finished

These creatures were adept at climbing the few trees populating the sparsely forested high peaks of the island. Scoffer commented on what a comical sight they made ‘whilst clustered in groups amongst the foliage, they competed for the most luscious fruit and leaves’ They were named after the traditional wind instrument of the Hebridean island of Barra ; the twisted shape resembling the creature’s horn, its atonal drone similar to the  noisy braying of the female of the species. There survives an example of the horn of the creature crafted into a handle of a tribal staff in the collection of the Pitt Rivers museum in Oxford

Edgar Allan Poe Bust

I came across a plaster bust of Chopin in a charity shop a few months back. I've nothing against Chopin particularly, but I thought that it might be an interesting project to remodel the sculpture into a great artist who holds some personal significance to me. Poe seemed an obvious choice (though, physically he bears no resemblance to Chopin at all!) so I modified Chopin's features into those of the creator of ‘The Raven’ and ‘Murders in the Rue Morgue’
Interestingly, While researching costume details I discovered that Poe and Chopin were almost exact contempories; Chopin 1810-1849, Poe 1809-1849.
Spooky huh?
