New Baffler Bird
Prior to the mating season the male Baffler Bird sheds some of its plumage and regrows more brightly coloured feathers. The bizarre mating rituals of the Baffler Bird were described vividly in Scoffer's journals: "during dusk and throughout the early evening, our relaxation was much inhibited by the hoots and squawks of the birds courtship taking place within the jungle"
