During the day the bright blue bizzleberry bushes are
protected by their resident colonies of stinging bees, during the cooler
evening the insects become docile- this is when the crepuscular bizzleberry
deer move in to graze. It is believed that the high concentration of blue
pigment imbues to the deer the vivid hue of its coat although this has
recently been disputed in the pages of Nature magazine.
