The Baffler Bird Complete

The fabled Baffler Bird of Scoffer's Island, a full reconstruction of this flightless feathered phenomenon.

  1. Carl - I like him a lot! What is the medium you used?

  2. Hi Susie, his body, neck and head are fired earthenware clay. His legs, feet and tail feathers are epoxy clay (milliput) modelled over a steel core. He is mounted on a wooden base.

  3. Wow, fantastic creatures! I love the bird because it's a whole bird. Much as I love all your wonderful Seussian creatures I have not come around to the idea that one should display their severed heads as trophies! (Pure foolishness, I'm sure. But they are such expressive and adorable and wonderful heads, despite all that.)
